Chrome OS is based on Linux, which has security features integrated into the system which make it a safer operating system, especially compared to Windows. The security of Chromebook OS is further strengthened by security chips, which are integrated into every Chromebook device that encrypt your data.

Furthermore, Chromebook OS starts in "Verified Boot", as the operating system scans for malware when starting up, ensuring safety by the time it turns on. There is also built-in virus protection in Chromebook OS alongside Sandboxing. Sandboxing keeps each of your apps separate so if one app gets infected, the rest stay protected.
